SixMap raises $7M to expand enterprise-grade attack surface management

Attack surface management solutions startup SixMap Inc. announced today that it had raised $7 million in new funding to accelerate its go-to-market expansion, product innovation and team growth.

Founded in 2020, SixMap offers advanced attack surface management that is designed to help organizations gain visibility into their digital environments. The company’s platform uses computational mapping to identify and continuously monitor all internet-facing assets, including those overlooked by traditional tools, to ensure that organizations can detect and address vulnerabilities across their entire digital footprint.

The SixMap platform operates on a zero-touch architecture that, interestingly, only requires an enterprise name to initiate a thorough scan. Once a name is in the system, the platform scans and discovers all connected assets, services and devices, including scanning all 65,535 ports across the IPv4 and IPv6 networks. The scanning capability enables it to identify vulnerabilities and misconfigurations that might otherwise remain undetected.

SixMap also integrates real-time global threat intelligence to provide context-aware assessments, with the platform prioritizing risks by correlating identified vulnerabilities with active threat actor activities. The net result is that organizations can focus their remediation efforts on the most pressing threats.

The platform supports proactive cybersecurity strategies by aligning with continuous threat exposure management principles, offering continuous monitoring and validation of vulnerabilities to ensure that security teams can respond swiftly to emerging threats. The platform’s automation capabilities reduce manual workloads, allowing for efficient threat mitigation.

Notably, SixMap does not require agents or privileged access, meaning that disruption to existing operations is minimized.

SixMap counts Fortune 500 companies and federal agencies among its clients. The company has also been awarded a Phase I Small Business Innovation Research contract from the U.S. Air Force to enhance its continuous threat exposure management capabilities.

IAG Capital Partners led the funding round, with TRE Advisors and previous investors DataTribe and California Innovation Fund LP also participating.

“Complete visibility into your attack surface is a pain point that SixMap solves with a level of precision and scale we haven’t seen elsewhere,” said Dennis Sacha, managing partner at IAG Capital Partners. “SixMap’s traction in federal and enterprise markets is just the beginning.”
